the Martin Short Show (3/20/00)
On 3-20-00 Nathan Lane appeared in a Jiminy Glick segment in which Jiminy interviewed arriving guests of the American Comedy Awards. This of course is appropriate as Nathan and Martin sing a number for the awards show (airing 3-23-00). It also marks another collaboration between the "Producers Dream Team." Mel had already courted Nathan Lane on national TV. I suspected that Wednesday's show (3-22-00) would result in Mel's courting of Martin Short. In this segment we see Jiminy stumble on his words while Nathan stands patiently waiting for a punchline. Eventually Nathan delivers a friendly jab, unglueing Jiminy's tongue, before being pushed aside in favor of Jerry Stiller. Click here for clip.
